<p class="has-text-align-center">Hello from my lockdown camp in my suburban Chicago home! In an effort to do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve, we&#8217;ve been HOME, and staying busy! I&#8217;ve been cooking, baking, crafting, and more &#8211; while I simultaneously help my child learn Chinese, as I wash endless amounts of dishes, and launder all.of.the.daily.outfit.changes. Any additional free time I have is spent with my daughter, who doesn&#8217;t understand the concept of &#8220;a dab of glue will do&#8221;, and my husband, who knows exactly when to pour me a vodka soda w/ muddled cucumber. </p>

<p class="has-text-align-center">We are doing just fine, and feel our privilege is great. But I need an outlet. <br><br>For the time being, I&#8217;ll be posting everything from emotional rants, alongside recipes, long winded stories, complaints, laughs, and more, on this forum &#8211; my once small business&#8217; photography page. Photography may not be an essential business, but my humor, and muli-faceted talents may just be what you need to get through the day. I live to serve.<br><br>MKAY. <br><br>We all know nothing is worse than reading someones word vomit/blog filler when you just want the damn recipe. I&#8217;m against the long scroll down the page&#8230;..so without further delay, here&#8217;s my first quarantine boredom post:</p>

<p class="has-text-align-center"><strong>The finest damn pear bread (err, cake) you&#8217;ve ever eaten.</strong></p>

</figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ingredients</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table><tbody><tr><td>4&nbsp;cups&nbsp;peeled, cored and chopped&nbsp;pears</td></tr><tr><td>2&nbsp;cups&nbsp;white&nbsp;sugar</td></tr><tr><td>3&nbsp;cups&nbsp;sifted all-purpose&nbsp;flour</td></tr><tr><td>1&nbsp;teaspoon&nbsp;salt</td></tr><tr><td>1 1/2&nbsp;teaspoons&nbsp;baking soda</td></tr><tr><td>1&nbsp;teaspoon&nbsp;ground&nbsp;nutmeg</td></tr><tr><td>1&nbsp;teaspoon&nbsp;ground cinnamon</td></tr><tr><td>1/3&nbsp;teaspoon&nbsp;ground&nbsp;cloves</td></tr><tr><td>4<strong>&nbsp;</strong>egg whites</td></tr><tr><td>2/3&nbsp;cup&nbsp;canola oil</td></tr><tr><td>1 1/4&nbsp;cup&nbsp;chopped&nbsp;pecans</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Directions</h2>

<p>Combine the pears and the sugar and let stand for one hour. This is crucial.</p>

<p>Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 10 inch bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray. Really grease the hell out of it.</p>

<p>Beat the egg whites, and combine them with the oil, chopped pecans and pear mixture. </p>

<p>Sift the flour, salt, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves together. Stir in the pear mixture. Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bang your bundt pan on the counter to level it out, releasing any air bubbles.</p>

<p>Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 60-70 minutes. Remove from the oven, and let cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing the bundt pan.</p>
