Here’s a helpful outfit guide for what to wear for your May 18th Mom + Me session with Little Birdie Photography.

When you want timeless photos – ones that will mean something to you years from now – outfits will matter. I believe the attention needs to be on you. Not your clothes. That focus should only be on the love you share with your family, and the special moments that are sweet, and fleeting. The tiny moments when your baby held your finger with his whole hand. When your little girl buried her face in your shoulder, to smell your hair. We need more staring at your kiddos adorable freckles, and less staring atUnder Armor logos….mkay?

Mom + Me Mini Sessions happening on May 18th, 2019 have a specific look + intention in the styling – the look of you, loving on your babies. And your babies loving back on you.

It matters what you wear. You need to feel comfortable, and not distracted by the clothes. You need to feel beautiful, because you are beautiful, and motherhood is beautiful (and often times, impossibly difficult). The right outfit selection will make ALL the difference.

Seen below, you’ll see great outfit examples for both Mom + Kiddos. These outfits should serve purely as inspiration when it comes time to choosing your look. YOU DO YOU, regardless of what I want. What do I want? Neutral colors. Peaceful, thoughtful colors that are non-distracting and complimentary to everyone. Whether it’s a soft brown, light gray, or a camel color – this is the path you should head down when it comes to choosing your Mom + Me Mini Session outfit.

For the Kids

As for your babies, again, simple and clean colors will work best. Bright colors aren’t going to compliment the set up, and please keep in mind that loud colors (especially red, pink, oranges) will reflect on to your face and body. Logos aren’t my jam. Neither are shoes, so no need to worry about that.

As a reminder, Mom + Me Mini sessions are Saturday, May 18th 2019 at the Barrington IL photography studio. The address is 232 E. Main Street Barrington IL, and appointments are required. Sessions are held from 8AM to 12 noon, and are $200 for 5 digital files – it includes a print release, and a free 8×10 gift print.
