The “sentimental value” factor of this session rocked my world. It’s always so cool when clients come to me with ideas, and I love incorporating “their vision” in to “my vision”. Everything clicks when clients really invest and care about their images. What I mean is…when I first spoke with Lindsey about capturing her maternity photos, she had a special request: that we take the photos where her and Doug took their wedding photos. What an awesome idea.
It was so cool to have them say “oh, we took a picture here” and practically see their memories scroll across their faces. I LOVE the fact that as a photographer, I capture these milestones in peoples lives, and I love the fact I get to help freeze time. It’s like I’m a super cool wizard or magician…basically.
We met up at the Centre of Elgin and headed across the bridge over “down by the river” (said with Chris Farley’s voice) to capture some awesome moments. Downtown Elgin has so much to offer–from exposed bricks, sculptures and architecture, the river walk, bridges, and so much more. I loved shooting here and capturing more memories at a spot that is so special to them 🙂
